From Prototype to Product!
What began as a basic web app conceived by Eric, a partner at Tiburon Data, was further developed within our internal executive innovation group—the “Wolf Pack”—and transformed into a commercial, multi-platform digital ecosystem. Killer Pool is the ultimate digital referee and scoreboard app for the world’s most competitive casual billiards game.
While some Wolf Pack ideas remain experiments, Killer Pool evolved into a live flagship product fully owned, developed, hosted, and operated by Tiburon Data. We spearheaded the entire product lifecycle—taking the raw concept and turning it into high-contrast mobile apps for iOS and Android, building the supporting web infrastructure, and leading the ongoing go-to-market strategy.
The Challenge
In bars and pool halls worldwide, "Killer" is a staple multiplayer game. However, standard gameplay suffers from persistent friction:
- → Manual scorekeeping on chalkboards or paper leads to errors and lost momentum.
- → Frequent arguments over "house rules," scratch penalties, and turn order.
- → Standard mobile interfaces fail in low-light, high-distraction venue environments.
After validating the basic scoring logic in our Wolf Pack sessions, Tiburon Data’s mission was to build a polished, scalable, cross-platform product ready for public app store release, while continuing to manage and host the platform as an internal property.

High-Contrast UI/UX Engineering
We designed a dark-mode-first aesthetic tailored specifically for venue environments. Featuring bold gold typography, high-contrast buttons, and zero-latency inputs, players can update lives with a single tap across a crowded room.
Full-Stack Mobile Development
We translated the core web engine into a native-quality cross-platform app (iOS & Android). Features include:

- • Automated Logic: Instant calculations for scratches, eliminations, and "Last Player Standing" resets.

Upgraded the core web scoreboard at killerscoreboard.com. Designed and launched the dedicated web landing page at /mobile-app to optimize conversion from search to app downloads.
Continuous Marketing & Growth
Tiburon Data built the brand presence from scratch, managing App Store Optimization (ASO), establishing social channels, and continuously producing custom ad collateral for Facebook, Instagram, and X.
